Scout Events

The Discovery Center hosts Scouting Events on specific dates.  These programs require reservations and prepayment.   Individuals with a parent/guardian and Troops are welcomed to attend.

Approximately 20 - 60 participants attend each program.

If your Council is interested in having us host any of these events or would like us to develop one to fit your specific needs, please contact info@ridgefielddiscovery.org.

Our Nature Programs: 

Water Wonders Junior Badge Program

During this program Junior Girl Scouts will complete the requirements for the Water Wonders Badge. This program has been made possible by a grant for the Meserve Memorial Fund. 
Advance Reservations and Payment are required

Saturday, October 2, 2010
10:00AM - 12 Noon
Ridgefield Park & Recreation Building
195 Danbury Road
Ridgefield, CT

Cost:  $10 per scout (Includes Badge)
Leaders and Chaperones are free
Individual Scouts must be accompanied by an adult who can stay with them during the entire program.

                                    How to Register:  Send an e-mail to the above address.  Please include:
                                          1.  Leader's Name (or if individual scout, parent/guardian's name)
                                          2.  Troop number & number of desired spaces
                                          3.  Town
                                   You will recieve a return e-mail that will either confirm or waitlist your space
                                   If you are confirmed, a date will be given by which time a check must be recieved for full payment

Our History Programs:

Take Girls* Back in Time Series
For Scouts 7-10 years
(*Can be adapted for Boys)

Our "Take Girls Back in Time" programs allows scouts to travel back in time and visit a specific year in history. They will learn how life was different and maybe even the same. This may include home life, school, entertainment activities and current events during that era. These programs meet the requirements for "The Brownie Girl Scout Through the Years" Try-It.

 

An American Girl in 1944

This unique program takes girls back to the year 1944. During it scouts learn what life was like for elementary school girls during WWII in America.  What she did in school and for fun along with how she helped out at hom and her country.

This program will be run again in the fall of 2010

During this program Brownie Girl Scouts will complete the requirements for the Space Explorer Try-It
