THE DISCOVERY CENTER |
Since 1985, The Discovery
Center at Ridgefield has offered programs that focus on nature, science,
history, culture, education, and the arts. From nature walks to canoeing
to events with live animals or birds, these programs appeal to individuals of
various ages and interests. We also welcome special groups -- such as preschoolers,
clubs, or families -- and public groups, both large and small. Membership
and participation is not limited to Ridgefield, and we encourage people
of all neighboring communities to participate in our programs.
The Discovery Center is a non-profit nature organization without walls. We have no office, building, or meeting place, so
we take advantage of diverse facilities, public open spaces, and private lands to make our programs flexible and innovative.
Membership
in The Discovery Center enables you to attend most programs free and to receive
a monthly schedule of events for advance notice. And your membership supports a program-oriented nature organization serving
Ridgefield and surrounding communities.
The Discovery Center
is staffed by our Director, who is supported by board members,
community organizations, and individual volunteers who donate their time
and expertise to provide special and very affordable programs.
It is important to call for reservations if you intend to attend any of our programs. There may be a change in meeting time or place. Also, if not enough people call to reserve for certain events, the event may be cancelled.
If you have any suggestions about events or other feedback, please call or send an e-mail,
